Overview

During my college years I had the great opportunity to serve as a design and marketing intern with DisArt. DisArt is an arts-centered nonprofit dedicated to cultivating and celebrating Disability Culture through creation, conversation, and consultation. They are an amazing organization working to redefine perceptions and practices, embracing the beauty of disability history, community, and identity beyond medical diagnosis and legal compliance. One of my projects for DisArt was to create a logo for their podcast, Distopia. For the logo I wanted to keep the look clean and modern to show that DisArt was working to shape current perceptions of the modern art space. The waveform cutting through the D adds a disruptive element to the clean font that echoes the way that DisArt wants to disrupt people’s ideas about art and disability.
